2,25 dl (1 cup) water
2, 25 dl (1 cup) flour
3 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 tablespoon sugar
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
Canola Oil for frying
½ dl of sugar
5-6 tablespoons oreo cookie crumbs
In a bowl, mix together the sugar and Oreo cookie crumbs (crush the Oreo in a food processor or put the biscuits into a food bag, crush into crumbs with a rolling pin). Put it aside.
In a medium pot, add water, butter, vegetable oil, sugar, vanilla sugar and salt. Bring to a boil (for about 2-3 minutes).
Add the flour and stir constantly until mixture forms a ball. Stir for about 2 minutes. Remove from the heat.
Add the dough to a new bowl and let it cool for about 2-3 minutes.
Add the eggs, one at a time and mix until a dough forms.
Heat the oil in a medium deep pot for frying. Add canola oil and fill it half way up. Heat the oil to 191C/ 350ºF.
Pour the churro dough into a pastry bag fitted with a large star tip.
Fry 3-4 churros at a time. Fry them about 1 minute on each side. The churros should have a nice golden brown color.
Let the churros drain on a paper towel and dip them one at a time in the Oreo sugar mixture.
Serve the churros hot with chocolate dip, caramel dip, Dulce de leche or eat them plain! It's up to you!
